Barefoot Design is a multi-disciplinary creative house consisting of Barefoot Design Interior Artistry: specializing in all aspects of interior design/space transformation and Barefoot Design Studio: creating bespoke, timeless pieces of completely functional art. Making your space truly unique, a little extraordinary, and completely personal.

Barefoot Design Studio is the place where I roll up my sleeves and bring a vision to life. I create bespoke pieces that punctuate the interiors I design or complement an existing space. Either way, this is where I can transform space into personal works of art…for you.

My award-winning designs include all things in polished concrete inlaid with live edge wood, glass mosaic, fossils, and found objects. I also love implementing the Japanese woodcharring technique Shou Sugi Ban to transform surfaces, as well as stenciling walls to incorporate the energy of a hand-touched finish. I have been commissioned to create chandeliers, room dividers, exterior water features, and even a garage clad in artificial grass. While I love to design, I love to make stuff.

Concrete

Forever drawn to the look and feel of polished concrete, this medium was the genesis and cornerstone of Barefoot Design Studio. I go beyond fabricating plain slabs by adding interesting design elements, wood inlays, glass mosaic, special joinery. Always welcoming the unexpected, a little surprise, and a little fun.

Stenciling

A simple way to add life, texture, and interest to a room without the commitment of gluing up wallpaper.

Shou Sugi Ban

The Japanese technique of charring wood to preserve it making it waterproof, rot and pest-resistant, super beautiful and super unique! With proper finishing, it can be used to clad walls, doors, furniture, and sculptural elements. Interior and exterior.

Bespoke Commissions

Most everything I do is custom. And I’m not limited to concrete furniture. I love problem-solving. And if I can’t find a “piece” for a specific space, I’ll find a way to make it. I work closely with clients to create works that express their unique individual natures or to enhance the specific landscape they inhabit. We are all in the details. And I love that.
